Although we were originally told the price was going to be £7.50, Stewarts have now confirmed the price is £15.00 per person. If you have already paid £7.50, we regret there is another £7.50 to pay. If you would like to cancel your booking please let Alan Parker know and we will refund any monies paid.
Following Martin Stewart’s excellent presentation of the history of Stewarts Garden Centres, we have been invited to visit their Automated Growing Centre and Nursery at Broomhill for a tour.
Stewarts have been growing for over 280 years, and this new facility allows them to grow more, more efficiently and to grow many more completely new varieties.
Interesting facts –
- Whole Nursery area is almost the same size as 2 football pitches
- Powered by 11 miles of ground source heat pumps
- At full capacity it could grow 970,000 plants per year
- The potting machine can pot 1,200 pots per hour
The tours will last around 30 minutes and we have arranged to have Afternoon Tea in their Café/Restaurant afterwards. The price £15.00.
Meet at 14:00. The tours will start at 14:30.
Tours are limited to 15 people. We have provisionally booked one tour Wed 27th and one tour Thu 28th March.
