It was a gamble booking a Classic Car meeting in February. Most classics are not well known for the efficiency of their windscreen wipers (or heating) and all of us remember the floods and bad weather of the last few weeks.
Seven cars were taken out of hibernation from their winter slumber on a delightfully bright February day for our first outing of the year. Although it could not be described as warm, after all it is still winter, two drivers braved the journey with hoods down.
All cars ran well and the seven drivers plus 2 passengers enjoyed the run across the forest to The Hare & Hounds at Sway.
Lunch was good (the spotted dick pudding was excellent!) and everyone chatted happily about memories of cars past and many other topics.
Most classic car owners are more than delighted to tell you about their vehicles. If you are interested in coming along for the ride or bringing your own cherished car, let Stephen Dennison know as another trip out in the Spring is being planned and he will send you details and invite you along.
