A wine tasting session? This was a new idea for Bransgore Probus suggested by member Alan Parker. The committee considered but not for long and the first gathering was set for 18th August at Stephen’s home.
At the appointed time Alan struggled up the lane with 12 bottles of wine with their labels covered.
The idea was that following Alan’s expert description of each wine including the type of grape and country of origin, we, the 11 assembled enthusiasts, would, after a sip or two identify the wine.
This only proved that none of us had the foggiest idea!
But we definitely knew which wines we preferred from the six different varieties on offer and everyone learnt a little bit more than knew before.
We certainly had a good time and there was much laughter and amusement.
With Alan’s hard work and enthusiasm it was a recipe for a great success and we are all looking forward to the next round.
Our grateful thanks to Alan for organising and running the evening and Stephen for hosting the event – and apologies to his neighbours for the unruly behaviour as we departed.
