Our next walk is scheduled to take place in the school holidays so we’ll head away from the tourist hotspots to Fritham in the north of the Forest. Park in the Forestry Commission car park just passed the Royal Oak for a circular walk through the Amberwood Inclosure to Ashley Cross and the Ashley Walk bombing range, on to the Alderhill Inclosure, returning to the Royal Oak – sorry Car Park – across the Fritham Plain. Distance is about 8.5k. Start time 10.30 as usual. Fritham is 14 miles from Bransgore and car shares are available. Contact Bernard Gilbert for further information.
